Nutritional Value of Soybean Products for Animal Agriculture

Soybean meal produced in the United States is a feed ingredient that is well-utilized by pigs. In this video, Hans H. Stein, Ph.D., a professor in the Department of Animal Sciences at the University of Illinois, explains why. There are inherent benefits in soybean meal for swine feed, such as the digestible amino acids and lower fiber content. Additionally, fermentation can increase the digestibility of phosphorus and make soybean meal usable in diets for young pigs.
